SHORT HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Kays school was established in January 1981 and started off as a nursery school offering education to children aged 2-5 with only five pupils in enrolment. Since its inception, the school has progressed from one level to the other in growth and transformation. Kays schools has been self-support since it was established. It is being managed by a board of Governors which takes all major decisions and advises and assists the school heads. The school is located at Ojuelegba, Surulere, a middle class area of Lagos and operates as a day school. The responsibility of offering a sound primary education to pupils aged 5-11, of average and above ability, and also those who were upcoming though not easy, is accepted by the school authority. As the time went on, it became obvious that the deficiencies of inadequate provision in later schooling often encountered by our pupils posed great difficulties for them. This prompted us to extend our education to include a secondary school for pupils aged 11-17.
We believe that by offering a continuous and progressive education from the early years of Pre –School through to the senior secondary, parents and Pupils are given that stability, cooperation and understanding which will satisfy the pupils education needs. This continuity removes the stress of having to change school and building new relationships, which may lead to losing the knowledge and understanding already gained from the present school.
Our population continue to grow steadily every year. Our facilities include 3 well equipped science laboratories, a computer laboratory, an art room, a library, a sick bay, an assembly hall, an open play ground and space for parking.
